Food Bank Update

                           ‘Food for thought/Fareshare’

One of our Food bank team members visited the ‘Food for thought/
Fareshare’ project update last week, which is proving most
successful and much needed these days. The van comes from
Southampton to various towns across Dorset. The produce is from
Supermarkets, including fresh, chilled and end of shelf life goods.

On Mondays 9 am the van is parked in St Mark’s Primary school
car park, and serves mainly families who are registered usually
       through the Primary Schools.
             £5 for a family
             £3.50 for a couple or 1 adult, 1 child
             £2.50 for a single person
They are given a good variety of food in their bags

Wednesday 9,30 am (a queue starts forming around 8.45 am) at
Chapel Lane outside the Children’s Centre. A greater mix of people
register here, but more families are welcome to join.

The bags are of a mixed selection, for those wanting inexpensive
food and / or saving excess food from ending up in Landfill.

                       Our Food Bank shortages are:
                                        Pasta
Tins of cold meat, snacks and meals
suitable for warming up and are given out to everyone
                                  Savoury nibbles
                                     Toilet rolls
Shampoo, toothpaste, soap and shower gel

                              Many thanks once again!
                                       Donna
