P. 9

Long my imprisoned spirit lay
             fast bound in sin and nature's night;
             Thine eye diffused a quick'ning ray,
             I woke, the dungeon flamed with light;
             My chains fell off, my heart was free;
             I rose, went forth and followed Thee.
         Chorus
                        Amazing love! how can it be
                        that Thou, my God, should die for me!

             No condemnation now I dread;
             Jesus, and all in Him is mine!
             Alive in Him, my living Head,
             and clothed in righteousness divine,
             bold I approach th'eternal throne,
             and claim the crown, through Christ my own.
         Chorus
                        Amazing love! how can it be
                        that Thou, my God, should die for me!

                                                  Charles Wesley (1738)

       A Time to Dance
                  Foot-tapping, heart singing, faith-bringing Rhythm.
                  Joy-coloured, life-tinting, love-glinting Music.
                  Shoe-splaying, hip-swaying, hand-clapping Movement.
                  Now is the time, the time to dance

                  Waltzing through life as we quick-step forward,
                  Sometimes it seems that the music falters;
                  Life’s beat extinguished or faint or shaken,
                  Hope gone to ground in deep sorrow’s bleakness.

       Those are the
       Times when the
       Dance stops moving;
       Days when the
       Band puts away
       It’s music;
