Social + Fund Raising ~ October

The Open Garden Cream Teas ensured that we have very happy
memories of August. Thank you to Lesley and Elizabeth who
hosted and the team of Donalda, Roz and Lyn who were kept busy
serving the tea, cake and scones. The four afternoons raised over
£400.

In September the popular Beetle and Bingo evening was the usual
fun-filled evening and although we were small in number managed
to raise nearly £200. Thank you, again, to the hard working team
who ensured the success of the event.

We are now looking forward to October 18th when our Scottish
Travelogue sees us going on an “Orkney Visit” led by Davina
and Paul. The ‘Tour’ starts at 2.30 pm and, for £6 includes Cake –
Scottish style- and a Cuppa. See page 17 for details.

Any Prizes for the inevitable Raffle, in keeping with our Scottish
visit, (Oats, Marmalade, Shortbread, Tunnocks, Soup….) will be
gratefully received!

A date for your diaries …make a note of November 29th when
Martin will be presenting another of his famous Quizzes. This time
the theme is Christmas! See page 21 for details

Thank you to the many people who have managed to fill a Smartie
Tube! To date £104.06 has been received.

The “Fund Raisers” hope you enjoy the various activities they
arrange and thank you for your support both in coming to events
and in providing consumable raffle prizes.
If you have any ideas for fund raising please do share them with
the Fund Raising team.
