December, we begin our season of Advent

Sunday 1st December 10.30 am Readings and Carols for the first
Sunday in Advent: Hope – led by Joint Methodist and URC Worship
Preparation Groups.;

Sunday 8th December 10.30 am 2nd Sunday of Advent: Peace – led
by David Scott.

8th December Craft and Christingle
2.30 - 4.30 pm with Christingle Service 4.30 - 5 pm led by Emily Gadd
Please come for an afternoon of craft, food and fun. All are welcome to
stay and get involved, bring Grandma, Great Grandpa and anyone else
with you and make a Christingle ready for the service. School age
children are welcome to attend alone once signed in, younger are
welcome with an accompanying adult.
Small donations welcome but not compulsory.
**We have a lovely bunch of Emily’s friends who have volunteered to help
at this event but would love to have more support for refreshments,
making Christingles, assisting on your favourite craft or cooking activity.
Please volunteer and speak to Emily to get put on the rota**

12th &13th December Candle-lit Evenings from 5.30 pm
Mount Scar School are looking forward to entertaining us again on
Thursday 12th December. For the last two years they have been a joy to
watch.
Christmas Stalls, a Cake Stall, Christmas and Gift Stall, a Toy Stall and of
course a RAFFLE!

Sunday 15th December 10.30 am 3rd Sunday of Advent: Love -
Favourite Carols, Poems and Readings on the advent theme ‘Love’ –
Led by Worship Preparation Groups.
15th December Christmas URC Community Lunch all are welcome,
please sign up for catering purposes. Suggested donation of £6.
This will follow our morning service, sitting down from 12 noon for a time
of food, fun and frolicking!
Volunteers for clearing up and serving welcomed.

Sunday 22nd December 10.30 am 4th Sunday of Advent: Joy –
Led by Davina Freedman and Donalda Plowman

Tuesday 24th December 6 pm Traditional Carols by Candlelight to
start off your Christmas.

There will be no Christmas Day service this year.
