MENTAL HEALTH AND WELL-BEING STAYING HEALTHY IN THE WORK FROM
The COVID-19 pandemic demonstrated on a global scale the HOME PERIOD
importance of physical and mental well-being and provided a
platform to relearn the significance of health vis-à-vis work-
life balance.
In 2020, we provided assistance to staff with respect to their
health and safety in the face of a rather disturbing and
disruptive pandemic. We opened communication channels Mental
between staff and management on steps to take in the wake Well-being
of a health crisis, the importance of staying healthy not just
for themselves but for their families and loved ones and the
need to take proactive steps in flattening the COVID-19
curve. At Waltersmith, the leadership team played visible and
empathic roles in putting the health and safety of every staff
as a top priority.
Workplace ergonomics and well-suited equipment are
necessary work tools that enhance health and good posture
needed for productivity in the workplace. As the pandemic
necessitated a work-from-home policy, Waltersmith provided
practical and helpful advice to staff on how to work efficiently
and effectively-including the need to take scheduled breaks,
have designated work spaces, maintain good posture and
reach out timely in the event of health impairment.
