SASS JORDAN – IT’S THE BLUES, BITCHES!

                                                                  By Lawrence Lebo

British-born Canadian rock singer Sass Jordan has been singing
on albums since 1986 when she was just 16 years old. Her
successful recording debut on the Canadian band
Bündock’s album Mauve, as co-lead vocalist on the song
"Come On (Baby Tonight)" led to her working as a session
vocalist for other Montreal-based acts. Sass’s own 1988

debut album “Tell Somebody” on the Atlantic Records label
garnered four Canadian chart hit singles, and her appearance in
the accompanying music video catapulted her to Canadian
                                         household fame.

By 1990 Sass decided to relocate from Montreal to Los
Angeles to break into the American music market. Jordan’s
second album Racine was released in 1992 on MCA
Records. Recorded in Los Angeles, Racine is Jordan's
highest-selling album, with global sales estimated at

450,000 copies. Sass had arrived! American actor Kevin
Costner became her fan and recruited her to record a
duet with Joe Cocker for the 1992 soundtrack of his hit
movie The Bodyguard (co-starring Whitney Houston).
Now Jordan was swimming in the big pool with the
                                                       stars!

After several more releases on different labels Sass
was invited back to Canada to be a judge on the TV
show Canadian Idol. More recordings followed

and in 2001 Sass took the lead role of Janis Joplin
in the off-Broadway hit show Love, Janis.

Jordan’s latest release Bitches Blues (a play on

including the Taj Mahal co-write “Chevrolet”

Sass’s vocals do not disappoint! The seasoned
