TAKE ANOTHER LISTEN...

Here we go again, sifting through the old cd collection and having
another listen, this album came into our household twenty four years
ago. Although I thought it was good back then, it's amazing how
much better things can sound after a while of not hearing them.

In 1996, Rounder Records released The Persuasions cd "Sincerely"
on their Bullseye Blues series (BB 9576). This vocal group were
discovered by Frank Zappa around 1968, who then flew them to
Los Angeles to record their first album.
These guys are without doubt the genuine article when it comes

to the doo—wop acapella style, using only their voices and no
other instruments.
I gotta tell you, if this group were practising under the street
light opposite our house, the windows would be wide open and
I'd probably be hanging out of 'em!
This cd includes their version of 'Members Only' and, a truly stunning rendition of 'Let's
Get Married / Sincerely'.

Sadly most of the original group of gifted vocalists have passed and, at time of this writing, June 2020,
only 'Little' Jayotis Washington survives.
