appropriate 'Death Letter Blues' and there is more nice acoustic blues from Little Victor and Kai

Strauss, with Black Patti and US harp star Joe Filisko closing the first CD with the low down and
dirty 'Be Ready When He Comes'. CD2 starts with a bang with Larry Garner and company, Tommy
Schneller blows a nice bluesy instrumental and Christian Bleiming plays beautiful boogie woogie
piano. Big Daddy Wilson contributes some soulful gospel, as does the wonderful Veronica Sbergia
on 'I Can Tell The World'. And the quality carries on right to the last tracks courtesy of Aki Kumar

and Nathan James and especially Jens Turowski whose closing track 'Give Me My Heart Back' is
one of the collection’s many highlights. Roger deserves much praise for getting this collection of
tracks together, it is completely successful and I hope that it makes lots of money for the
      musicians involved.

Do you remember LIVE music? Unfortunately these days we
can't get to hear live music so at least this album lets us listen to

a gig recorded live at Atlanta's Blind Willie’s club. Eddie 9V is a
young blues artist who's debut album provides most of the
material here, although while that album was mostly him playing
all the instruments (!) this record sees him playing with a
youngish band of Chad Mason (keyboards), Lane Kelly (bass),
Colin Dean (drums) and Jackson Allen (harmonica) leaving Eddie
to concentrate on vocals and guitar. His debut record was very raw and this one being live is even

rawer but it does keep the same excitement levels — check out the opener '36 & Main' with Eddie's
strong vocals and stinging lead guitar with its great tone. The old blues chestnuts 'Look Over
Yonder's Wall', 'Going Down Slow', 'Catfish Blues' and 'Got My Mojo Working' are all played with
verve and plenty of enthusiasm and the title track of his first album 'Left My Soul In Memphis'
comes across well. Eddie is a really good front man and the band back him up all the way, the

rhythm section swing and Allen's harp and particularly Mason's keyboards are really good. There
is nothing new here but I liked Eddie and the band’s enthusiasm and the drive they bring to this
what is in effect fairly basic Chicago blues.
