GG: Ah, thanks and thank you by the way, for playing my tracks on your shows. It really means a
great deal.
BiTS: My pleasure. There will be more.
GG: Well, that's very, very nice of you. But yeah, we're standing on the precipice of a new album
now, so it's the first kind of true, all-new album for Lights and Lines. It's called “Escape Hatch
Fever”.
BiTS: Is that out already? I don't think I've seen
that.
GG: No, the single is out. That came out on the
27th of January.
BiTS: Yes, okay. I’ve got that.
GG: Yeah. And then on March the 3rd, the
album comes out. That will be only exclusively
available via Bandcamp for a little while for
about 6 weeks. So it will be available as the CD
and as a download, but it doesn't go on general
release, it's not released to streaming sites or
available anywhere else until mid-April, so it's a
bit of a staggered release.
BiTS: You got any big gigs coming up in an
effort to try and sell this?
GG: Well, there will be a few. There's nothing
that I can really confirm with you at the moment, but I can tell you in addition to the album itself,
there will be an all-acoustic version of the album coming out in May. And that is a completely
different experience because I'd say “Escape Hatch Fever” is almost like a psychedelic blues rock
odyssey as an album, and then the acoustic version is just designed to be something familiar, but
completely different, if you know what I mean? It's the same songs, but they're slightly different
arrangements, completely different feel, totally different solos. You know, all those types of things
all made with an acoustic aesthetic and so that comes out in May. That will go on general release
again in June and actually in October, there’s a small UK tour that I'll be doing but that will be a
solo acoustic tour. So that's definitely happening and I'll gladly send you over the dates for that. if
you have any suggestions on tour I think from the 13th of October is the first date and it will be the
sort of two weeks following that.
BiTS: What sort of venues are you looking for?
GG: Oh, small venues. So let's say you know, 50 to 100 people and comfortably musical venues,
arts centres or, you know, music pubs that have got a really good, strong culture of getting original
musicians there, if you know what I mean? So if you've got any suggestions?
BiTS: There's a great deal of music in Southampton and some fabulous musicians that play around
there as well.
GG: Well, so I hear. Yeah, I'd love to be a part of that. And part of what I'm doing actually is
teaming up with artists who are kind of native to the places that I'm going. So I'm going to be
