it and why do you think it’s largely ignored by your peers?

DT: There is a particularly strong feeling that I felt when I started off singing the blues. It stuck
to my soul. It made me happy, made me cry, made me laugh, and made me mad. All real raw
emotions. I never knew at the time that music could spark emotions just from the song itself.
That was when I knew that it had a deeper connection and meaning with me. Almost ancestral.

I feel that many people my age are not into the blues as much because they classify this music
as “old folks’ music”. It’s an art form that is older than us! But if we respect the genre and
redefine what it means, so people my age can relate, I feel that it would be listened to more
    commonly.
LL: Let’s talk about your new release “Who is He?”. What was your vision and concept for
    the release?

DT: I wanted this album to be completely unlike anything that anyone has ever heard before,
yet with the same vibes and strong-feeling blues this historical music invokes. I wanted this
album to show vulnerability. I wanted the stories to be relatable to today’s problems, with
celebrations of love, laughter, and life. I wanted each track to paint a different part of the
portrait, that collectively came together to make one piece of art that would answer the
question on the front of the album.

LL: Would you tell us about working with bassist/producer Larry Fulcher, and about all
the musicians who contributed to this release please?

DT: Working with Larry has been unforgettable! Since the moment that I met him in St. Louis
to the start of recording in Blue Lotus, up to this moment, he has been supportive of my vision
and saw beyond my youth and saw the great things and potential I now see in myself. We’ve
continued to make unforgettable memories! The album process had a group of St. Louis’ greats
that graced this project on the back line, with Larry Fulcher and Wayne Goins as producer/ co
producer. Under Fulcher and Goins’ direction, the late greats Montez Coleman and Mike

Finnigan, KC native Ryan Marquez, St Louis’ native Tru Born, Grammy award winner Christone
“Kingfish” Ingram, 21-year-old Sean “Mac” McDonald, Texas’ own Kyle Turner, and many
others came together and made this album what it is now!

LL: What can your fans look forward to coming up for you?

DT: Expect new music! I have a tour in Brazil for the majority of August with the Simi
Brothers. I’ll be performing at the Music at the Intersection Festival in September. I’m a
Special Guest on the Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise in October and will be joining lots of
old friends & new ones for some very exciting performances. Go to DylanTriplettMusic.com to
see Tour Dates as they’re confirmed.
