SHAUN MURPHY – COMING HOME AND GOING RIGHT

                                                                 BACK OUT AGAIN

                                          Seventy-ffive-year-old vocalist and American blues artist Shaun
                                           Murphy has had that rare, rich and rewarding career that most
                                           vocalists would die for!

                                            August 1969! Right place and right time, in that Motown hub
                                           of R&B and Pop talent, Detroit, MI (USA). Shaun performs at
                                  the first ever Ann Arbor Blues Festival. 1971 finds Shaun recording
                                                                      for  Motown’s  Rare  Earth  Records
                                                                      division  as  a  duo  act  with  legendary

                                                                      Marvin  Lee  Aday  under  the  stage
                                                                      names of Meatloaf and Stoney (Marvin
                                                                      and  Shaun  had  been  castmates  in  a
                                                                      theatre  production  of  ‘Hair’)!  What
                                                                      follows for Shaun is live and recording
                                                                      work as a backup singer with such acts
                                                                      as  Bob  Seger,  Eric  Clapton,  Moody
                                                                      Blues,  Herbie  Hancock,  Phil  Collins,
                                                                      Glen Frey, Joe Walsh, Maria Muldaur,
                                                                      Bruce  Hornsby,  Michael  Bolton  and
                                                                      Alice Cooper, to name a few! In 1993
                                                                      Shaun joins the band Little Feat as a
                                                                      full-time  member.  She  tours  and
                                                                      records  with  Little  Feat  until  2009.
                                                                      Over 15 years!

                                                                      It gets better! September 2009 Shaun
                                                                      releases  her  first  blues  “solo  artist”
                                                                      album  entitled  “Livin’  The  Blues”.
                                                                      Three  albums  later  Shaun’s  2012
   release ‘Ask For The Moon’ is nominated for three Grammy Awards and wins two Blues Blast
   music awards. Three more releases later and Shaun is nominated for five 2020 Independent

   Blues Awards, in five different categories!
   June 5, 2023, welcomed Murphy’s 11th release, “I’m Coming Home”. It’s a twelve-track mix of

   originals and covers, and one brilliant, passionate, consummate Shaun Murphy! Also appearing
   are bandmates Tommy Stillwell and Kenne Cramer on guitars and vocals, Kevin McKendree on
   keys, Tom DelRossi on drums and vocals, and John Marcus on bass. What more can I say!!! Shaun
   Murphy is a veteran vocalist and artist for all times. Run .... don’t walk to get your copy of her

   I asked Shaun Murphy to tell us about her musical career journey. This is what she told me ...

   LL: You have certainly had a long, successful and interesting career, Shaun. Thank you for
   agreeing to share your story with us! I usually start off my interviews by asking about an
   artist’s childhood beginnings, but if you don’t mind, let’s start with your music career.
