               Project Requirements

               Second Floor:
               Offices
               50.0 ft. x 70.0ft.x 8.0 ft.ceiling
                          private offices (2F, 2M)
                          board room (18 people max.)
                          design (1F, 2M)
                          training (2F, 4M)
                          general office (4F, 2M)

Owner’s preference was for some brick on the exterior and a primary concern for overall
project costs. Qualifying was carried out through the initial sales effort and the decision was made
to proceed with preparation of a proposal. Standard construction and finishes seemed to be the
most logical solution. Based on this information we could now proceed to determine the detailed
               project requirements.

               Obtaining Criteria

Prior to commencing pre-bid design work it is necessary to obtain adequate project
information and requirements. Based on the sketch and the sample project information provided
by the Acme Manufacturing staff, we can now proceed to compile the detailed design criteria
necessary to complete the pre-bid design and ultimately produce an estimate and proposal bid
               amount.

               Overview

Submitting some type of design work to enhance your proposal is strongly recommended.
From simple line diagrams on 8 1/2" x 11" pages to full size drawings, the importance of
illustrating your proposal details cannot be over emphasized. Design information that covers
complete proposal details is preferable to an overview that is all gloss and color. All design work
should be cross-referenced with the included specifications to eliminate any ambiguity. It is very
important to include design details on any items where the client has stated a concern or appears
to have a special interest. All field work required to complete the pre-bid design should be
complete and accurate. Existing conditions must be illustrated accurately, do not minimize the
problems that may exist by suggesting a later review or solution. Should you be concerned with
the unauthorized use of your design work it would be important to include a statement of your
proprietary rights and written permission requirements. In order to prepare a detailed, firm, and
accurate proposal amount, you will require the information as noted in the preceding project
requirements section, along with the design criteria outlined on the following questionnaire forms
               and sample project drawing
