Specifications Format:
Use the traditional four digit numbering system that is based on an outline specification from a
previous proposal or completed project. Depending on the complexity of your particular projects
you should be able to maintain on file an indexed copy of all your Outline Specifications. When
preparing a new proposal you would simply edit the relevant specification pages to suit the
current project's requirements. Many of your proposals will have the same traditionally numbered
divisions and in most cases the same general work phases. Remember to always date and identify
each edited page for the current proposal.
Budget Proposal Specifications:
Some budget proposals may require submission of a brief Outline Specification. Based on
a standardized identifiable numbering system and consisting of simple one line statements, these
Outline Specifications can be used as the basis for any future formal proposals. Providing a simple
Outline Specification with your Budget Proposal will indicate your professional approach to any
prospective clients.
