PPO Diaries

❖ A brief overview of the project

My internship was in Mergers & Acquisition department at
Deloitte and I was a part of 3 projects during my internship.
In all three projects, Deloitte was appointed to conduct
either commercial or operational due diligence of possible
target companies, for the client. Apart from the projects, we
had to work on firm initiatives, which were designed to help
the firm function in a better way, I was a part of 3 FIs during
my time at Deloitte.

❖ How is a normal day at the Internship

On a normal day, the Indian team would get a
CHIRAG SRIVASTAVA touchpoint call from the US team, at 8 or 8.30 AM in the
morning, the US team transferred their work on this call,
DELOITTE USI then we had an internal Indian team call at 10 AM to
__________________________________________ plan the day. In the evening, we handed over our work
to the US team, during the evening touchpoint, at
GENERAL INFORMATION around 8 PM. After this we were required to complete

our pending work, mainly related to FIs. Throughout the
Batch: PGDIM 25 day, there were a lot of sessions organised by the
internship team, or department team in order to solve
B.Tech: Delhi College of queries or get our opinions on the internship program.

❖ What are the challenges faced during Internship?

The Biggest challenge I faced was to network with people, it was emphasized from the beginning that

networking is very important at Deloitte, but I found it hard to go around and speak with strangers, so
instead of doing that, I used to find some common work that I could have with the person and ping

them on skype to ask if we could speak regd. that. It might sound very trivial, but it really helped me a
lot to do networking at the firm.

❖ What did you do right and what did you do wrong?

I think I never panicked during my internship, despite the workload, especially given the fact that we

were working on live projects and not dummy projects. I wanted to go on more team outings and
events which I missed during my internship, but I do hope to work on that when I rejoin.
