❖ A brief overview of the project
Based on my past experience, I was aligned to Strategy service
line. My project involved preparation of a commercial launch
strategy for a USA based pharmaceutical client's new therapy to
treat a specific type of blood cancer. The therapy was in a
clinical trial phase during my project period and my team's goal
was to prepare a full fledged launch strategy for the therapy in
the USA market. It involved site (hospital) sequencing and
archetyping, site certification process, resourcing strategy and
triage escalation plan.
❖ How is a normal day at the Internship?
MIRAL BAKUL PARIKH
A typical day at Deloitte used to start with a Skype conference
call at 7:30 am IST which involved on-shore and off-shore
DELOITTE USI teams. During this call, the on-shore team discussed with us
__________________________________________ about the client meetings and work progress during their work
day. Based on our discussions, we used work during our work
GENERAL INFORMATION day. I always took the morning calls from home.
Batch: PGDIM 25 After the call, I used to reach office around 10 am and clarify
the work for the day with my off shore team. We were a 4-
BTech: Sardar Patel College member team. Then 4 of us (one consultant was working from
different location) used to worked on our respective
Stream: Mechanical deliverables which involved a lot of brainstorming and
discussions.
Work Ex: Thyssenkrupp
At 6:30 pm in the evening, we again had evening touch point call with the on-shore team to transfer our work
during the day.
After that, I used to complete the leftover project work and then switch to my firm initiative (FI) which is
internal work of Deloitte where again I used to discuss the deliverables with the FI team.
So yes, my typical day at Deloitte used to be pretty long. But then it was not the case with every intern out
there. It depends on your service line and the kind of project you get.
❖ What are the challenges faced during Internship?
Firstly, my project was quite complex and it took some time for me to understand the entire project and its
requirements. I got the hold of it by discussing about it more and more with my team mates who were always
there for me.
Secondly, I used to have hell lot of things to do during a typical work day. Key point over here is how to
prioritize the work based on the importance and deliverable timeline.
