❖ What are the challenges faced during Internship?
The major challenge that I faced was in data collection because the data that I needed for the project is not
available directly so I personally had to visit various locations and sort out the relevant data by working in
various departments with the respective teams.
Secondly, If your project guide is someone who is at a high designation in the company then its tough to get
his time as in my case my project guide was mostly out of town so one has to be crisp and clear in every
meeting with him.
❖ What did you do right and what did you do wrong?
For the right part I would like to state that I talked to my project guide continuously to confirm that I’m on the
right path as per his expectations, I followed my timeline strictly and completed the project as a note from
where it can be carried on and for that I made a proper document.
For the wrong part I would like to say that when I was initially allotted the project I though it in theoretical
terms as we are taught in academic course and was unaware about the practical challenges. But when I
started the project, I felt that I was bit late as I had to face many practical challenges. As I made the dashboard
as I imagined the data I’ll get easily but later on I realised that the data is not available easily so I had to work
extra during the middle days of internship and then I was able to complete the project in time.
❖ What are the things to keep in mind in the internship?
• It’s 2 months project so first understand the scope of project carefully as you won’t be able to apply
the project in those 2 months. So, your work must be valuable for the company after you leave and
you must make a route plan for them so that they can carry it forward.
• Discuss your project with experienced people in the same department because they will guide you and
it will save your time as well as you will get to know
st
• In the 1 week make your timeline and follow it strictly. Also, make sure to complete the project at
least 2 weeks before deadline so that you can have a chance to extend the project.
• Remain in contact tough with your guide and keep updating him that what are you doing and keep
asking if he expects something else because in the end heshe is the person who is going to recommend
you so be truthful to him.
❖ What pre-internship preparation do you suggest for juniors?
Advanced Excel and VBA are enough for most of the projects allocated during the internship. Apart from this,
good presentation skills are an added advantage in some cases for the final review of the project which
consists of good communication skills as well as power point presentation skills.
