PPO Diaries
❖ What are the things to keep in mind in the internship?
Keep it simple. There’s a concept of Occam’s Razor. Occam's Razor is a line of reasoning that says the simplest
answer is often correct. So do not try to over complicate things just for the sake of doing something new. Your
solutions can be innovative yet simple. Companies like simple implementable solutions.
Your effort should be on expressing rather than impressing. Let your work leave the impressions.
Try to talk to as many people who are related to your project as possible. And be a keen listener, ask the right
questions. Discuss your approach with multiple people and seek their opinion. Alums will help a lot.
Start working on your presentation well in advance at least 15 days before.
Try to quantify the result of your project, how much net savings you drive home.
❖ What pre-internship preparation do you suggest for juniors?
Be very thorough with Advanced Excel, Macros, Power Queries and Power BI, most of the companies face
problem in analysing and visualizing the data. So Tableau and Power BI will come in handy.
And yes, brush up the basic stats.
❖ Anything else you would like to add
Work for the sake of giving an excellent solution and justifying your selection rather with an expectation or
anxiety of a PPO. You’ll get what you deserve. All the Best!
