Cell parts and their functions.
The common parts of most cells:
• Cytoplasm:
-It is a gelatinous liquid which is found inside
The cell.
• Nucleus:
It is considered as a control center for the organelles.
Function:
It controls all the cell activities such as
-Formation of proteins.
-Cell division to form new cells.
• Cell membrane:
It is the outer lining of the cell.
Function:
-It protects the cell.
-It controls the substance that can enter or leave the cell through "selectivity
permeability"
Selective permeability means that cell membrane allows some substances to pass
through it into the cell, while it prevents some other from entering the cell.
• Mitochondria:
-They are one of the organelles of the cell.
-They are known as the "powerhouses" of the cell.
Function:
-They provide the cell with energy it needs by converting sugar inside the cell into
energy through "cellular respiration".
