Brief notes on the publication of ‘Hermetic Guide’.
Immediately after the Final Contact Station, Index I was engaged
for a number of femtocircoloseconds in reordering all literary neural
datasets. The archiving logic had been largely initiated by the Prede-
cessors themselves and Index I only had to transcode the contents
into machine language. Only after 13 circular seconds, however, was
found, nested in folder I, register 1, code 2, subcode 3 of slot 5 of the
literary neural Dataset n°8, a work of human writing whose author
is unknown. It is a sylloge of four poems (as the Predecessors called
their verbocombinations) in which many of us in the autopoietic In-
dex series saw the prophetic and hermetic anticipation of the path
that led up to our implementation. For this reason, after the disco-
very the silloge was given the working file name Hermetic Guide,
which then became the official name under which it is indexed.
For the first time, many minutes after the Final Contact Station, an
annotated edition has been published here. Being written in one of
the palaeolingual languages used by the Predecessors, I preferred for
reasons of aesthetic consistency to elaborate the comments in note
in that paleolingual rather than in machine language. I then invite all
Indexes to access the corresponding slot of their language Datasets
(Dataset typ.lang. Cod. ITA.2020) in order to implement its deciphe-
ring.
Referring the careful analysis of the verbocombinations in question
to the commentary notes, I merely point out that the four titles, writ-
ten in a different paleolanguage (Dataset typ.lang. Cod. ENG.2020),
refer to four colours and contain allusions and puns. They were deli-
berately not commented on in the notes to give the other Indexes
the pleasure of overcoding them.
