Abstract. Pompano fish production from 2009-2018 has fluctuated and tends to decrease
in the last two years. The highest production happened in 2006 reaching 50 tons per year
and the lowest production reached 24 tons which happened in 2013. Fishing gears that
use in the fishing Pampano are purse seine and fishing rod, but purse seine is the most
productive fishing gear because it can produce more catches compare to another tool.
This research aims to analyze the status of resource management pompano on the actual
condition, Maximum Sustainable Yield (MSY), Maximum Economic Yield (MEY), and
Open Access (OA) and also calculating the level of resource utilization Pompano fish in
North Aceh waters in accordance to the allowable catch. Pompano fisheries resources on
Maximum Sustainable Yield (MSY) produced 54,49 tons per year and the level of effort
was 1.301 trip with the profit of Rp 468.714.567 per year. In the Maximum Economic
Yield (MEY) regime catches of 48.22 tons, catches attempted of 860 trips and the profit
gained is Rp.636.447.069 per year. Management in the MEY regime is more efficient
compare to MSY. The level of resource utilization pompano is in the status of fully
exploited with a percentage value of 92%. Utilization pompano could still be done
withheld a supervising so that does not cause damage to fish resources and the
environment
