to have Dr. C. Suman Kumar MD Paediatrics and Dr Matheen Asrar, Nutritionist to grace the
occasion with their valuable inputs on Wellness and Fitness. Our young Cambridge learners
participated in the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony and an energetic power- packed dance
number integrating the subject of Math with dance. Ms Rachel led the audience in a mood of
prayer with her mellifluous rendition.
Our dear Principal Ms . Sunitha Rao, a visionary leader shared her views on the importance
of the need for fitness and ignited the young minds to always be physically, mentally and
intellectually fit at all times. Our Vice-principal Ms. Shanti Anthony reiterated the fact that a
healthy lifestyle is the key to a healthy society. Dr C. Suman Kumar led the audience into a
session titled “Health and Education during Covid times…” Sir brought out the following
points with utmost clarity:
What food should children eat?
How to keep children stable and happy during prolonged Covid times?
Nutrition and immunity for the children.
Altered learning patterns and strategies to cope with the current times.
Teachers and Parents role in helping children face the pandemic
Dr. Matheen Asrar , a famous nutritionist brought out the importance of “Nutrition for Little
Scholars”. She shared a lot of insights on healthy living:
What is healthy living?
Right amount of nutrients required for children
Why is breakfast so important?
How to deal with a child who refuses to eat fruits and vegetables/ milk?
Target diet
Apart from these two speakers we also had Ms. Rrishita, HOD Health and Wellness
department and Ms. Divya Lalwani, our school counselor, contribute their views for healthy
living.
At the end of the sessions, it was a delight to see parents express their satisfaction as many
doubts and apprehensions they had about their kids could be cleared after the resourceful talks
by our guests. The day ended with a lot of learning take-aways for our children, the parents
and staff as well.
