Over and above the transition, where ed-tech is gradually refining the education scenario, Delhi public school
understands the need for a smart and robust educator training and assessment program. There is a tremendous
effort directed towards teacher training on exploring new and effective teaching approaches and also online
assessment tools.
The In- house training that was conducted by the Vice Principal Ms. M.F Shanti covered the concepts of Assessment
For Learning (AFL) and Meta Cognition which are at the heart of Cambridge Teaching-Learning process.
The training helped the teachers to identify different types of cognitive learners, their learning styles and the
approaches that can be used with each of them. As AFL aims to ‘close the gap’ between a learner’s current situation
and where they want to be in their learning and achievement, teachers could plan tasks which would help the
learners to do this.
“Austin’s butterfly” shared a few tips on building excellence in students work with a special focus on critique and
descriptive feedback. It was a food for thought for the teachers. Also, the teachers as a team could come up with
creative ideas on setting daily routines for the circle time.
The month of June culminated with the learners engrossing knowledge and skills which will nurture the students
holistically. The month fostered in the learners the enthusiasm and the spirit of learning which would keep
manifesting in the upcoming months!
