In the closing of this essay, it just goes to show how vastly different and interesting these
organizations can be. One sets out to make a profit and capitalize on their investments while
the other has a more holistic approach wanting to better the community and create an
impact with various charitable projects. Looking at the examples mentioned is great to see
so many NPOs that revolve around sport in South Africa and there is a fight to get kids of the
streets and create opportunities for them to engage and participate in sport. Meaning there
is a push in South Africa to develop and build athletes from a young age while teaching
important life lessons and skills. Even though for profit sport organizations are leaning more
towards the business aspect of the sport, there still is great development and infrastructure
being created for future athletes as these big organizations are investing heavily into the
sports clubs and community sports to show even though they are a private company they
still care about the community and want to make a difference.
