               A.  Learning objectives
                   After learning activity 1, you are expected to be able to:
                   1. Understanding Number Patterns, Sequences and Series

                   2. Determine the pattern of a series of numbers,
                   3. Determine the nth term of a sequence based on the properties/patterns possessed,

                   4. Determine the first n terms of a sequence if the formula for the nth term of the sequence

                   is known,
                   5. Determine the nth term of a series based on the properties/patterns possessed,

                   6. Determine the first n terms of a series if the formula for the nth term of the series is
                   known.

               B.  Material Description




                                                        Children  consider  the  following  problem,  suppose  a
                                                        colony of bacteria will divide in half every five minutes. If
                                                        there were 90 bacteria at the start, how many bacteria were

                                                        there after half an hour? So to solve this problem we can
                                                        use the concept of sequences and series, you know. To find

               1.  Understanding Sequences and Number Patterns
