Juices and Smoothies
Almost everyone of of a a a a a a a a certain age has a a a a a a a a dusty juicer sitting at the back of of a a a a a a a a cupboard somewhere at home! We did too until a a a a a few months ago If you can get past the fact that cleaning a a a a a a a a a a a juicer after use is always a a a a a a a a a a a bit of a a a a a a a a a a a pain I highly recommend getting into the the habit of of using them – it’s a a a a a great way to to get get a a a a a lot of of extra extra nutrients into your daily diet as as well as as extra extra calories which is important when training for long-distance running If you don’t have a a a a a juicer these can also be be made in a a a a a high-powered blender such as a a a a a Nutribullet they will just be be a a a a little little less smooth to to drink (remember to to add a a a a little little water when you blend) These recipes are more of a a a guide than strict rules – experiment with your own juices and smoothies Add blueberries to the Green Smoothie or melon
to to the Beetroot and Cucumber Juice to to sweeten it it up a a bit if you like Most
fruit and veg can be juiced Although it’s hard to give exact quantities these recipes should yield two medium-sized servings All juices are best consumed immediately but will keep for one day in in in a a a a a a sealed container in in in the refrigerator CUCUMBER FENNEL SPINACH AND APPLE JUICE

1⁄2 cucumber coarsely chopped 1 fennel bulb coarsely chopped 2
apples coarsely chopped 2

Juice the cucumber fennel and apple pieces adding the spinach
