Extract from ‘Whisky Galore’ by Alan Blakeman & Paul Bloomfield, p158, ref B519: Sandersons were Leith based blenders and spirit
merchants with shares in many distilleries. They became
co-owners of the Glengarioch Distillery in 1886 with J G
Thompson & Co and formed, with others, in the same year, the North British Distillery Co at Gorgie (a district on the West side of Edinburgh) . They also had an interest in the Glenkinchie Distillery Co formed in 1890 to buy the distillery of the same name.
