Distinctive pink ground top lid section with black transfer, ‘ DR DOSTEELS/FOR BEAUTIFYING & PRESERVING/ THE TEETH & GUMS/ CHERRY TOOTH PASTE. Impressive large central pict. image of Queen Victoria, ‘trade mark’ & crown each side. Three pin head nicks from
the very bottom underside where lid rests on top of the inside of the base, & a little bit of rusting - as dug (in the 1970’s). The base has 3 inside chips - not visible when lid is on. Remains one of the UK’s all time ‘classics’. AMENDED 2/7/20: Underside egg shaped curving

Impressive and highly detailed design featuring a mosque, palm trees in front, and the actual shop facade below surrounded by banners with claims. Some rusting, feint edge hairline (bleach out) and out edge nick
@ 4-o-clock - mostly to underside). This lid was dug by Grace Narraway from the Iver site. (7.8/10) NR £80-120+

21. JOHN BELL PURE COLD
CREAM OF ROSES POT LID & BASE.
2.9ins diam. A truly fantabulously ornate border surrounds the
wonderful Wigmore St shop front. Two tiny,
tiny, pin head nicks off the very bottom edge of the lid where
it rests on the base, minor edge dirt, otherwise just a little bit of rust to clean off - as dug - Willow Tree Lane site says the label? (8.8/10) NR £80-120+
22. AYRTON & SAUNDERS ARECA NUT TOOTH PASTE POT LID & BASE. 2.75ins diam. This lid features a more distant mosque pict. with two
palm trees in front, company t.m. each side.
A few little outer edge rubs, no actual damages. Very good. (9/10) NR £30-40+
23. RIMMELS CREAM OF ALMONDS LONDON POT LID & BASE. A very large 3.9ins diam. pot lid with nine lines of varied font writing, & decorative outer border,
from this famed London Perfumer. Not many lids boast having ‘Saponaceous/....Soft & Abundant/ Lather/... Toilet Vinegar’! Whilst the inside of base rim is mostly absent this is a remarkable survivor - the outer serrated lid rim being undamaged (some rusting - will clean off), and on the base bottom edge too. (lid 9.5/10) NR £120-150+
