DISTANCE FROM THE EYELID
One of the biggest mistakes an eyelash artist can make is to apply the
extension to close or against the eyelid. This will not only prohibit the natural
lash from growing and shedding freely but will guarantee to cause your client
severe irritation and discomfort. Always ensure that you place the extension 0.5
– 1mm away from the eyelid (skin).
PLACEMENT AREA
There are 3 areas you can place the extension
on to the natural lash. The top, the bottom, or the side.
This will be determined mainly by the growth or
curl of the natural lash.

CORRECT ATTACHMENT
Correct placement is vital for good retention and client comfort. You want at
least 2mm from the base to the extension to attach seamlessly to the natural
eyelash. If the base if lifting or is loose, the extension might come off when
brushing it. The base can also scratch against the eyelids, causing itchiness and
discomfort to your client.
DIRECTION / ANGLE
How to Make the Most Perfect Lash Direction?
Clients can sometimes have their natural lashes growing in
different directions, even over-lapping. Here are some tips
on how to control direction and avoid the disorganized
pattern of the natural growth. (If we for example, have a
natural eyelash curved towards the inner corner.)
So, if we stick to the natural direction, we will end up with
messy extensions. We should ignore the natural direction
and attach the extension to the base of the natural lash
looking in the direction that we require. Also, when isolated, some lashes may
tend to straighten up, we should ignore this also and still attach the extension
in the direction opposite to the wrong natural one (if in our case the NL is
looking towards the inner corner, the extension should fork towards the
outside).
