Pre renovation
Bethesda Country Club’s playing corridors began quite tight, which limited the playability of the course, es-
pecially for doglegging holes like the par five 11th. The overabundance of trees limited the number of fair-
way bunkers and led to a repetitive golf experience across Bethesda’s parallel holes.
Our improvements concentrated on extensive tree management to increase the course’s width and strate-
gy. In turn, our improvements added a total 13 fairway bunkers, six of which are positioned on the 11th and
are playfully titled “Hell’s Quarter-Acre”.
