LALA JAGAT NARAIN D.A.V. MODEL SCHOOL, KABIR NAGAR, JALANDHAR, one of the leading educational institution in
Jalandhar came into being in the year 1994 when Sh.D.R. Gupta ji the Principal D.A.V.College,Jalandhar, a prominent name in the
D.A.V. History, known for innumerable achievements, had an idea of imparting education to the poor stuff, with the blessings of the
Hon’ble President D.A.V. College Managing Committee, discussed with Padamshree Vijay Chopra Ji, The Chief Editor, Punjab
Kesari Group, Jalandhar, regarding establishing a school for the poor to which Sh. Vijay Chopra Ji immediately agreed and this joint
venture school with the name LALA JAGAT NARAIN D.A.V. MODEL SCHOOL came into existence.
Madam Anita Nanda was appointed as the founder Principal to nurture the sapling sowed by D.A.V. However immediately
on realising in a year or so that no person in the society would like to be termed himself/ herself as poor, the school objective was then
changed to Model School to honour the feeling of the society and was shifted to the present place which is running into acres.
Principal Anita Nanda put in relentless efforts all these long year to enable the school mark its place in the city. The school
is bestowed with a very hard working and obedient team of teachers and non-teaching staff who collectively made such hardworking efforts
in teaching and other activities. The guidance and hardwork of the worthy Principal Madam Anita needs special appreciation who is always
found guiding the teachers and students. She is a big inspiration.
The school has been giving all round performance especially the educational results for which the school is meant. I, Rajni Gupta, Co-
ordinator, Sr.Sec. Block, and HOD (Accountancy) feel satisfied by serving this esteemed school as my main motto of service to the society (inherited from my father
Sh. D.R. Gupta Ji) is being fulfilled through educating the students, making them disciplined and helping them to reach to some position in life. Right from the year
2003 when the class (+1) was introduced in the school, I happened to be the first lucky teacher for +1 and +2. Every year the Sr. Sec Block has brought laurel to the
school by giving results with distinctions and positions not in the city but also National toppers in ACCOUNTANCY, BUSINESS STUDIES PAINTING,
PHYSICAL EDUCATION, ENGLISH etc. I am grateful to Principal Madam who has provided me a wonderful team of mature, obedient, innovative and result
oriented teachers who feel the responsibility without any reservation in their minds. The wonderful, encouraging and results with distinctions speak their teaching
methodologies. The school has already produced many CA’s, CS’s Engineers, Film Producers/ Actors.
All these years we have been properly guided by our Principal Madam who always stood by us in all thick and thin. The experience in this school has
made all of us face any challenge, odds from any corner which has helped us to be better human beings. The annual results have always energised us all to introduce
more innovations, and new more teaching skills/ techniques for the times to come. We as teachers of this school, take all the challenges.
The School, at present is a well known school not in the city but in the state/ nation, was started 25 year back. Behind this success journey, there are relentless
endeavours put in by our Principal Madam who has fought all the odds in upbringing this school as her own child. The efforts of the full team of the school needs a
big applause.
We, the school, has achieved many milestones and shall further achieve new heights of success by making the students not only educated but
obedient, disciplined, true nationals, good persons at heart. We are sure the school under the able leadership of the Principal Madam will touch new horizons.
