A mirror to the past… and a vision for the future” A reminder of things past- of successes, hopes and dreams fulfilled and
promise of even brighter things to come. This is what nearly twenty five years of functioning is all about. It is a landmark, a
milestone in the history of an institution.
Lala Jagat Narain D.A.V. Model School, Kabir Nagar, Jalandhar started with the efforts of esteemed Sh.
Vijay Chopra Ji and Late Sh. D.R. Gupta ji, the Principal of D.A.V. College, Jalandhar at that time, during its journey of 25
years inspired and empowered its students to be lifelong learners, critical thinkers and productive members of an ever
changing global society. The school is still striving to sensitize its students to the needs of the community & inculcate
values like integrity, fortitude and acceptance of individual differences under the dynamic leadership of Principal Mrs.
Anita Nanda.
The school which was started in a building of 3 rooms was shifted to the current building in 1997. The
positive attitude, hard work, sustained efforts and innovative ideas exhibited by the Founder Principal Anita Nanda has made
the school a torch bearer in the region with various achievements in both academic and extra co-curricular activities. She has
put relentless endeavours and fought all odds to bring excellence to this institution during the time. I would like to describe how
Benjamin Zander in his book 'The Art of Possibility' talks about how one can go beyond making a contribution to begin one. Such a
perspective has great value, as it allows us not to worry about measuring up to other's standards, and at the same time appreciate everyone around as a gift
to us.
The school is blessed with an effective team of teachers, non-teaching staff who contribute collectively for the uplift of the school.
As we continue our journey towards excellence in 2020, it is my hope and desire that each of us in the school will be a gift & contribution to others.
Today when the school is celebrating its twenty fifth year of a successful academic journey, I feel privileged to being an important
part of this worthwhile journey. The Principal having set the pendulum rolling, as a promoter, has set the pace of progress of school resulting from its own
inertia and strength. The most noteworthy aspect of the progress registered in the last years is evident by the fact that the school has produced many
Engineers’, Film Actors, Film Directors, Chartered Accountants and Researchers in the field of computer technology.
The school has embarked upon new programme, brought in many innovations in all spheres of activities, devised new plans and
strategies to strengthen its academic set up and sharpened the requisite tools for all round development of the children. It is heartening to note that most of
the class 10 students have rejoined in class 11. This is testimony to their faith in us and reaffirms our belief that the institution is marching ahead in the right
direction responding positively to the expectations of parents and the needs of the students.
Fortunate, as we receive the patronage, support and blessings of our DAVCMC President Esteemed Sh. Punam Suri Ji, Director Dr.
Nisha Peshin, and Chairman Esteemed Sh. Vijay Chopra Ji, the school has by their benevolence taken up the upgradation of the infrastructure. School
management has done a great job in conceptualizing and developing it in a phased manner. It is there for all to see. I am glad to mention that this school is
carrying out the vision of DAV and I am sure that this institution will go a long way in the field of academic leadership in the region.
