LATIN AMERICAN REGIONAL COMFERENCE
SANTIAGO 7-9 September 2023
Three members of Berkeley BPW, Ellora, Sujata and Manjul attended events at
the Latin American Regional Conference.
The Conference was well attended by over 60 members. It included the Interna-
tional Executive members, Regional Coordinators and Regional Members from six
countries or more.
The Conference had good speakers on the first morning, speaking on importance
of leadership, ethics etc. The second day the conference was at the UN Building.
The two speakers who planned to speak at the UN were absent, however their
place was filled by two BPW members. Bessie Hironimus from USA presented the
International Constitution, its importance, formation, knowledge and use. An excellent
presentation!
She was followed by the International immediate past President Yasmin Darwich,
who shared her journey in BPW, being the first Latin American Member to be elected
as International President. She highlighted the importance of leadership skills and the
constitution.
The UN session event ended with a lunch at the site and a group photo taken at
the garden.
