The Members Emergency Fund (MEF) are open to receiving applications, and as always
these will be treated in the strictest confidence. Isobel has kindly written further in this
month’s newsletter, and an application form will also be easily printable from the Newsletter.
They have already given some grants to very worthy causes, and Janet has kindly explained
where the members money has been donated. However, please feel that if you have a need,
do speak to Isobel or another trustee in confidence. They can then guide any member through
the application process. If the boiler goes bang, or the fuse box begins to fizz, don’t sit in the
cold and dark. We are there for you.
If you would like to let me know how you have saved energy, please email me, I would
love to know or see a photograph. Or if you have a tip that you know other members would be
interested in, just had solar or a wind turbine fitted? Let us know!
Jackie and I have looked at some useful websites, the Martin Lewis, money saving site is
always up to date, and worth exploring. The recipes that Jack Monroe shares are tasty and
thrifty, and worth a try. We have included these not for you to think we have become a house-
hold tip organization, but because we know this is the first thing in our minds and on our
screens. But we are never alone, we are BPW sisters and with our networking and friendship
we can ride this storm together.
