Speaker Profiles

In order of speaking

Claire is based in North Bristol and comes from a healthcare
background, mainly working on the frontline in the NHS. She
trained as a pharmacist and supported with the COVID
vaccination programme. The DPCC was a Councillor for eight
years for the Horfield Ward area, a Cabinet Member for Education
and Skills and an Area Chairman for Bristol and Gloucestershire
Conservatives. Claire has previously been a School Governor and
is currently a Trustee for Bristol Old Vic, where she is the
Safeguarding Lead.

Claire Hiscott

Angela Loveridge is the founder of Better Together (Online
Safety). She is a passionate online safety specialist who is
on a mission to empower parents / carers to keep children
safe online. She is constantly doing research to identify
resources that can give parents / carers a practical
approach to online safety.
She supports parents who may feel overwhelmed and utterly
exhausted by all the issues that online safety raises for
them whether their child is two, a teen or somewhere in
between.
Angela empowers parents to create online safety strategies
that align with their parenting styles and with the unique
needs of their child(ren) by delivering interactive workshops
to signpost them to practical online safety tools, techniques
and resources so that they can keep their children safe
online. This approach also gives parents / carers the ability
to continually adapt their unique online safety strategy as
their child develops.
She also coaches parents, of tweens and teens, through
their fears and stress with regards to online safety.
Angela Loveridge As a mum of two, with a MSc in IT and a background in
Financial Crime Analysis, Angela’s innate interest in both
parenting and technology have combined to create a
genuine passion for online safety.
This passion, to keep children safe, has led to winning the
Tim Marsh Memorial ‘Tech for Good’ Award (2023) and being
nominated for the NSPCC/AoCPP* award for Child Protection
Trainer of the Year (2018).
