Position Paper on Youth
Date: Wednesday 1st June 2022

The discussion is going to be on the NGO-UNESCO Liaison Committee’s Position Paper
on Youth, and the role that we played as individual activists in compiling the same.
Hailing from a renowned family of lawyers and following their footsteps, Ayushi Kundu
currently practices as an Advocate at the Calcutta High Court. She did her schooling
from Loreto House in Kolkata, then completed her graduation in law from the Depart-
ment of Law, Calcutta University, securing second position. Thereafter, she pursued an
LLM in Human Rights Law from Queen Mary University of London, United Kingdom, and
a Graduate Diploma in Law from London Metropolitan University. She has a keen inter-
est in human rights of women and children, and frequently writes on these areas, and
her articles have been previously published in various academic journals.
In June 2019, Ayushi was elected as the Soroptimist International President’s Appeal Co
-ordinator, along with Olga Sidenko from Switzerland, for Soroptimist International
President Sharon Fisher’s Appeal: The Road to Equality. It is through this role that
Ayushi has been able to gain immense exposure into the larger world of Soroptimism
and the advocacy work done by Soroptimist International at the United Nations.
