New Proposal

FRIEND OF BPW UK

The FEC in collaboration with our working groups is introducing an initiative for BPW
UK whereby anyone can be associated with BPW UK by being a ‘Friend of’ the organisation.
This does not require a change to our constitution as it is not a type of membership so can
be introduced immediately.

Criteria would be as follows:

 Open to all

 A reduced fee of £50, subject to an annual review

 Area dues will be sent to the Area where the Friend lives to enable the Area to cover
any communication costs

 Able to attend and participate in BPW UK Members Days / Area and Club events held
across the UK – subject to fees charged for these activities

 Able to attend BPW UK National Conference but not BPW UK AGM – subject to fees
charged for this activity

 They would receive BPW UK E News and other UK communications as appropriate

 Able to attend any Working Groups/ Taskforces or Special Interest Groups when invited
by the chair for their specialist knowledge/contribution but will not be listed as a formal
member of the group

 Not eligible for BPW UK International or June O’Dell awards

 Not able to request BPW UK Members Emergency Funds unless a full member proposes
them

 No voting rights on mandates or constitutional motions

 Not able to attend BPW International or BPW European events as BPW UK Representa-
tives with voting rights

 No affiliation fees will be paid to BPW International or BPW Europe

 Not able to stand for any elected role within BPW UK

 Separate application form used covering GDPR regulations 2018


