PUBLIC POLICY
The District and Club Public Policy Chairs are an important link to the CFBPW
Public Policy Committee.
At the even numbered year Public Policy Conference the CFBPW Public Policy
Statement is drafted for presentation to the State Annual Conference. Each District has
a voting representative (i.e. District Public Policy Chair). Items of consideration on the
tentative Public Policy Statement may be proposed by Local Clubs and Districts through
the District Public Policy representative at that meeting.
Each District Public Policy Chair is responsible for obtaining and reflecting the views of
the Club members and to be familiar with the current State Public Policy Statement and
the National Advocacy Platform.
Each Club Public Policy Chair has a primary responsibility to help the District Chair ob-
tain and disseminate the views of the members.
It is important that the District maintain a budget item to assist the District Chair with
expenses incurred from this obligation. The District is also responsible to see that the
District Bylaws include the duties and responsibilities of this Chair.
Thank you.
