         elimination of all forms of discrimination including “glass ceilings.”


         AB 575  Author, Papan   Amends the Unemployment Insurance Code regarding Paid Family Leave.

         Removes several barriers to taking paid family leave, e.g., preventing employers from requiring employees to first take accrued
         vacation days before taking paid family leave.

         Status of bill: 9/20/2023. Sent to the Governor.
         Public Policy Statement: CFBPW promotes equity, political and economic self-sufficiency for working women in all phases of their
         lives.



         AB 793  Author(s)   Bonta    Reverse Warrants
         Would protect digital privacy for medical information by banning certain types of digital surveillance. The main purpose would be
         to protect against disclosure to law enforcement of sensitive reproductive health information for those seeking reproductive and
         gender-affirming care.
         CFBPW Screening Committee Vote:  Support

          Status of bill: 6/30/2023.  In Senate, held in Judiciary Committee at request of author. Will be two year bill, compromise lan-
         guage TBD.
         Public Policy Statement: CFBPW promotes greater focus on women’s health care including support for reproductive justice, free-
         dom of choice, access to family planning, protection for all health care needs affecting women and ensuring funding for research.


         AB 1149 Author(s) Grayson, Blanca Rubio        Human Trafficking

         An act to add and repeal Title 6.7 (commencing with Section 13990) of Part 4 of the Penal Code, relating to human trafficking.
         Upon appropriation by the Legislature, this act sets up a Multidisciplinary Alliance to Stop Trafficking.  The task force will provide
         recommendations to strengthen state and local efforts to address the issues of human trafficking.
