The Executive Committee was convened five (5) times since the October 2023 Fall
Board of Directors Meeting.
Recommended to the Board of Director the 2024 Annual Conference be held in
Sacramento at the Hilton Arden West.
Approved the Public Policy Conference Budget, the appointment of Betty Allum as
Community Involvement Chair and a $45 refund to Ashley Maria for Winter Board’s
Friday lunch.
REPORTS:
CFBPW Nominations Chair Lynn Brandstater reported papers have been received for:
President – Anne Marie Johnson
President-elect – open
Treasurer – Denise Luckhurst
Secretary – Open. If this office remains open Katherine will continue.
Deadline to submit papers April 1, 2024.
Manjul, NFBPWC Nominations Chair suggested CFBPW propose to NFBPWC a
bylaw’s
change to give the Nominations Chair a vote on the NFBPWC Board of Directors. No
action was taken.
Membership Chair Bessie provided a detailed membership report showing California
North District with 6 new members, Sierra Mar District with 6 new members and
Valley Sunset District with 7 new members for a total CFBPW membership of
114.
Bylaws Chair Trudy Waldroop gave the reminder that March 18, 2024 is the deadline to
submit bylaws’ amendments to her for consideration at the May Annual Conference.
NEW BUSINESS:
Public Policy Co-chair Rosemary Enzer moved that the CFBPW Board of Directors
approve the Public Policy Advocacy/Program Guidelines for CFBPW Districts and
Clubs. Motion carried.
Public Policy Co-chair Rosemary Enzer moved that the CFBPW Board of Directors
approve the revised Ballot Measure Endorsement Procedures as presented.
Motion carried.
PROGRAM:
Succession Planning Task Chair Katherine Winans provided a follow up presentation
based on the Winter “California Woman” article stressing the importance of
mentoring/orienting new members to what they have just joined and taking the time to
develop a club/district strategic plan to document the group’s goals and the strategies to
achieve them, including timeline, and documenting success. The foundation of BPW is
strong clubs. The success of Districts, CFBPW, NFBPWC and BPW-I depends on it. It
is essential to communicate the “why” of what we do. Because there is still much to be
achieved. She thanked the other task force members Barbara J Davis, Sandy Thompson
and Rosemary Enzer. With special thanks to Bessie as ex-officio member.
