It can take some time and thought to get your speech just right. You’ll go
through several versions before finding one that is compelling and sounds natural in
         conversation.

         Follow these six steps:

         1. Identify your goal.
         2. What is your organization.
         3. Explain some achievements of the club.
         4. Edit and edit.
         5. Is it 25 to 30 seconds long or about 80 to 90 words or 8 to10 sentences?
         6. Practice, practice, practice.

Here are the two examples of an elevator speech given at the June Training:

 The California Federation of Business and Professional Women was chartered in
1920 as the only organization at that time to advocate women’s rights and equal-
ity in the workplace. Our meetings are informational, educational, and enter-
             taining.

 Business and Professional Women help women locally and globally with infor-
             mation, leadership opportunities and scholarships.

Now go create your own elevator speech to recruit new members.
                   Good luck.

P.S. Invite a person to a BPW meeting this year.●
