EARTH DAY CAMPAIGN

The story

Observed annually since 1970, one month after the spring equinox, Earth Day marks the
anniversary of modern environmental consciousness and dedicated care for the planet.

BPW is stepping up to promote the message of sustainability and encourage indi-
vidual responsibility and action by women everywhere.

We pledge to draw attention to the critical issues of the planet, seek solutions by
informing ourselves and others and use our networks to encourage others to do
the same.

We invite women leaders and women everywhere to join us in making pledges
of sustainability for the year ahead.

What?

The pledge can be personal or professional, depending on what you are passion-
ate about at your present stage in life, and may include: new ways to limit the use
of packaging and ‘single use’ plastic or processed food containers, create a bee-
friendly balcony, change dietary habits, or consume music in a more sustainable
fashion. However big or small, it is important that the practice or activity selected
is something one intends to follow throughout the coming year - 2023-
2024. For those who committed last year, what other easy swap could you add in
to your daily life? New ideas are popping up all the time.
