            On 2  March, Dr Judith Cook BSc (Birmingham), PhD (Sheffield), member of Bristol Club, gave us a
            fascinating insight into viruses and whether they are Dead or Alive!  We were left to make up our own minds,
            but it is clear from the discussions that viruses are definitely parasites and like to ‘free load’ on our healthy
            cells.

            They batter their way into the cytoplasm after fusing with the cell membrane and continue to replicate and
            create more virions to infect other cells.
