daughter has now lit the candle for us
Whilst reading the Cook Book, I remembered past and present members of BPW, the friends
and neighbours who attended the events, the laughter, the stories, but most of all the
friendship.
“As we light this last candle, let us reaffirm our aim to go forward with faith,
with courage, and with enthusiasm, to take our place in economic, social and
political fields of endeavour, helping us to bring into being a world of social
justice for all, and the peace to which all humanity aspires.” (an extract from the
Candle Lighting Ceremony that was first devised in 1941)
