When I was back in Northern Ireland, I also visited the Women’s Aid
(www.womensaidni.org) project that BPW UK MEF donated monies to during our confer-
ence in 2023. This will be explained more fully later in this month’s Newsletter by Jacqui
and Ruth. The stories that these women shared will stay with me for a very long time.
These women are strong and have had life experiences that none of us would want to live
through, and yet they chose that life; inspirational!

I had the pleasure of joining the NW & Mids Summer Lunch in Manchester, with
members from other areas joining us all. Adeela Khan joined not only the lunch, but as a
new member of BPW UK. Adeela is a Public Health specialist and is currently a research
fellow at the University of Salford. Welcome to you Adeela.
Thank you to those members who took the time to feed back to us about what you
would like to see in this monthly BPW UK members Newsletter. As you will know this form
of communication was made more frequent during the pandemic and forms a large body
of work each month. The Media and Marketing Working Group and I will now look at the
feedback, and report back to you all over the summer. I would like to take this opportuni-
ty to thank the members of this Task Force, VP MM Jackie Franklin, PNP Janice Bancroft
and Monique Lee for the work they contribute towards the Newsletter each month.
If you have not yet sent in this feedback, but would like to do so, please e mail me:
president@bpwuk.org.uk.
Best wishes,
Mrs Jo Kinsey
