APRIL 3, 2019 BREAKING NEWS
A December deal allowing Cuban baseball players to play in the U.S. without having to defect was declared illegal and cancelled by the Trump administration today. This was the latest in many efforts by the president to rescind, invalidate and destroy any rule, policy, regulation or law advanced or supported by the Obama administration. Stephen “Madman” Miller reportedly came into possession of a National Baseball League list of names and went ballistic when he couldn’t pronounce most of them.
It should be noted that the National Hockey League logged 39 Russian players on its 2018-19 season roster, up from only 14 players in its 2014-15 season. Russian Ambassador to the U.S., Anatoly Antonov, denies that Trump’s election had anything to do with the surge in Russian players, even though it is well-known that hockey is Vladimir Putin’s favorite violent sport, aside from meddling in foreign elections.
The Cuba decision came three days after the president backed off
his threat to close the U.S./Mexico border, offering Mexico a one-year warning instead. Mexico is our nation’s third largest trading partner, which is a fact that the president considers both fake and irrelevant.
According to numerous economists, both left and right leaning, the economic impact of closing the 2,000-mile border would be devastating and cause the stock market to gyrate, which would upset the president hugely since it is the only thing he cares about — that, and stealing another term in office.
