The following day in Tampa, Trump held a mini-rally on the tarmac with Air Force One and 15 sheriffs and deputies behind him, reduced to 14 after one officer teetered off the tarmac with help from Secret Service personnel. It was later disclosed that the deputy exhibited symptoms of Covid-45 and had been admitted to Tampa General Hospital for tests and observation.
The crowd appeared to number several hundred, but it quickly dissipated to one lonely man whose age appeared to match the 95-degree heat. The president continued to talk about everything under the sun. Literally.
When this reporter left the scene one hour into his harangue, the president showed no sign of running out of breath, even though his jacket’s armpits showed signs of significant perspiration stains.
Later that day, a White House staff source reported that the president talked to himself an additional hour and 18 minutes after the elderly gentleman shuffled off the tarmac shaking his head.
