Born in Woudsend, Netherlands. She studied at the Design Academy in Eindhoven. An intership at the
design department of IKEA led to a job and a succession of notable projects. In 2007 she set up her
designstudio in Gothenburg, where she works as an independent designer, for companies like Materia,
Markslöjd, Pholc, Lundbergs möbler, Tenzo and IKEA. Which are lighting and furnature companies.
Monika’s designs have received awards such as Best Swedish design 2001 and Elle Decoration Best
furniture of the Year 2003. And her work has been shown on exhibition world wide as well as published
in design books.
