Brief
Through the product breakdown process I learned that this product is a one-piece injection
moulding making this product and the components inside nonrecyclable.
This means that the product, at the end of its life cycle would likely be thrown out into a dump
and not make its way to a recycling centre where is casing and components could be recycled. Reseach
This could mean less waste, saving and resuing materials that are in limited supply.
Ideate
Participant one who was in the target market age group said the design of the product
“Dated” was “boring” and “dated”. Due to the white colour of the product the participant said this product felt
dated and also that it could be easily stained with food which they felt like would take away further
from the aesthetics of the product over time.
So for my minor problem on this project, I decided to focus on the aesthetics of the product to try and
make it more appealing for the age group I had chosen to focus on, which was younger adults who may
be starting out cooking for themselves and what to up skill or learn new skills in regard to cooking. Final design
