        What is “Active Ageing”?

        According to the WHO „active ageing“ is the process of optimizing opportunities for
        health, participation and security in order to enhance quality of life as people age.

        The word “active” refers to continuing participation in social, economic, cultural,
        spiritual and civic affairs, not just the ability to be physically active or to participate
        in the labour force.

        What does Active Aging Include?

           - The ability to meet one’s basic needs
           - The ability to learn, grow and make decisions
           -  Mobility
           - The ability to build and maintain relationships
           -  The ability to contribute

        How can We Achieve It?

           -  Change how we think, feel and act towards age and ageing;
           -  Ensure that communities foster older people’s abilities;
           - Deliver person-centred integrated care and services that respond to
            older people’s needs
           - Provide access to long-term care for older people who need it. Source: who.int Infographic Populations are getting older
