Multiwire or block cutters are used to cut marble. Blocks

may be cut using a variety of techniques depending on their

size; for example, big blocks may be processed using a

multiwire cutter, while smaller, asymmetrical pieces may

be cut using block cutters. The type of block to be cut will

also depend on other factors, such as its quality and the

materials it must include (such as tiles, slabs, or

        staircases).

        Material Origin

Due to the fact that black absolute marble is a

quarried natural stone from Zimbabwe, South Africa,

it is sometimes referred to as black Zimbabwe

        marble.
